A new release of the Ubuntu Cloud Images for stable Ubuntu release 20.10 (Groovy Gorilla) is available at [1]. These new images superseded the existing images [2]. Images are available for download or immediate use on EC2 via publish AMI ids. Users who wish to update their existing installations can do so with: 'sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && sudo reboot'. The following packages have been updated. Please see the full changelogs for a complete listing of changes: * apt: 2.1.10ubuntu0.1 => 2.1.10ubuntu0.2 * elfutils: 0.181-1 => 0.181-1ubuntu0.1 * grub2: 2.04-1ubuntu35.1 => 2.04-1ubuntu35.2 * grub2-signed: 1.155.1+2.04-1ubuntu35.1 => 1.155.2+2.04-1ubuntu35.2 * gzip: 1.10-2ubuntu1 => 1.10-2ubuntu1.1 * linux-meta: 5.8.0.38.42 => 5.8.0.41.45 * linux-signed: 5.8.0-38.43 => 5.8.0-41.46 * lshw: 02.18.85-0.3ubuntu2 => 02.18.85-0.3ubuntu2.20.10.1 * sudo: 1.9.1-1ubuntu1 => 1.9.1-1ubuntu1.1 * tzdata: 2020f-0ubuntu0.20.10.1 => 2021a-0ubuntu0.20.10 * update-manager: 1:20.10.1 => 1:20.10.4 The following is a complete changelog for this image. new: {'linux-headers-5.8.0-41': '5.8.0-41.46', 'linux-modules-5.8.0-41-generic': '5.8.0-41.46', 'linux-headers-5.8.0-41-generic': '5.8.0-41.46'} removed: {'linux-headers-5.8.0-38': '5.8.0-38.43', 'linux-modules-5.8.0-38-generic': '5.8.0-38.43', 'linux-headers-5.8.0-38-generic': '5.8.0-38.43'} changed: ['apt', 'apt-utils', 'grub-common', 'grub-efi-amd64-bin', 'grub-efi-amd64-signed', 'grub-pc', 'grub-pc-bin', 'grub2-common', 'gzip', 'libapt-pkg6.0:amd64', 'libdw1:amd64', 'libelf1:amd64', 'linux-headers-generic', 'linux-headers-virtual', 'linux-image-5.8.0-41-generic', 'linux-image-virtual', 'linux-virtual', 'lshw', 'python3-update-manager', 'sudo', 'tzdata', 'update-manager-core'] new snaps: {} removed snaps: {} changed snaps: ['lxd'] ==== apt: 2.1.10ubuntu0.1 => 2.1.10ubuntu0.2 ==== ==== apt apt-utils libapt-pkg6.0:amd64 [ JCGoran ] * Fix "extended_states" typo in apt-mark(8) (Closes: #969086) [ Jordi Mallach ] * Fix typo in Catalan translation. [ Julian Andres Klode ] * doc: Bump Ubuntu release from focal to groovy * pkgnames: Correctly set the default for AllNames to false, and do not exclude virtual packages if --all-names is specified (LP: #1876495) * Remove expired domain that became nsfw from debian/changelog * patterns: Terminate short pattern by ~ and ! (LP: #1911676) * Improve immediate configuration handling (LP: #1871268) - Do not immediately configure m-a: same packages in lockstep - Ignore failures from immediate configuration. This does not change the actual installation ordering - we never passed the return code to the caller and installation went underway anyway if it could be ordered at a later stage, this just removes spurious after-the-fact errors.
